crazy rich fashionistas well over 40 try to strike a protest...crazy 20-somethings with no money try to protest THE protest//drama on style.com

ahhhh style blog, how I love thee.
you recommend amazing innovative beauty products when i'm at war with blemishes and watch upcoming trends while i'm still hittin the snooze button. I love you.
but....
as I have recently read... certain bloggers are abusing our fellow topic-fashion!
people actually think fashion is dead! this user claimed fashion was dead, styles have been repeated for the past 30 years, and how he/she hates the new trend of being young and leggy. I'm guessing, she's a rich hag that can't but any trendy items without risking public's eye peeking at her wrinkly collar bone or spider veiny leggies. It's understandable. but fashion is not dead. I'ts alive and kickin! Designers are constantly inspired by each other, the past, the present, the future, everything! This miss/mister wants the old coco chanel back, but in order to move forward in the fashion world, we must develop new styles or tweak them in such a way, they are almost completly different.

wasn't it charles caleb colton who once said "immatation is the sincerest form of flattery"? and didn't coco chanel, the very fashion house this blogger was speaking of once say:
"fashion fades, but style remains" but by that she meant, trends fade, but the general style of the world stays the same, inspirations change them slightly, but they change nonetheless.

here's a post replying to that 'fashion is dead' post, from a different user. Read this, it makes sense. you all what I mean, when you go to forever, you buy a pair a shoes, and they only last a few days!READ ON:

"There are a lot of women past the age of 50 with money to spend but the powers that be in the nothing industry are only playing attention to the women in their teens and 20's who have NO money to spend anymore.

Women after a certain age are not comfortable wearing too short manufactureres or manufactureres that reveal too much at the top and sleeves that are too short or non existant.

Not everyone wants to spend thousands of hard earned cash on designer clothes. We live in a machine washable world now. There are other things to do with time and money than prance around acting like big shots because of the label in our clothes.

The cheaper brands are being made to fit everyone which means that the clothes have no real shape now. They look flat laid out on the tables in stores because they ARE flat. The racks are jammed with this stuff that doesn't look good on anyone.

When are these big manufacturers going to get the message? I don't want a pair of cheap flats in rainbow colors that cut up my feet when I wear them. I want quality footware that doesn't fall apart in the rain and doesn't require me to carry bandaids in my purse for the blisters I know I am going to get.

Am I angry? YES! I am going to start shopping in consignment stores where the real clothes from the past are living. At least those fabrics won't feel like sandpaper against my skin or make me sweat because of all the synthetic fibers."

Amen sister!
