walking on a dream

I know "walking on a dream" is a way old song but i totally have it on repeat on my ipod. Which relates to my current post....about oohilove.com
Oohilove.com is a penny auction website, in which you buy a bid pack that holds.99cent each bid, then use those bids to buy designers bags for literally cents on the dollar.
Usually I don't buy into that whole gimmicky fake sign that says 'WE SELL DESIGNERS GOODS' tripe because it's usually some asian swapmeet lady trying to get me to buy a white shirt with rhinestones on it spelling out :Channel.
ew. so wrong on so many levels... (I'm totally ripping on the asian swapmeet ladies this week!lol)
Anyways, i love a good bargain (by the way i went to metropark like a week ago and bought some floral pocketed over-sized tank & metallic eternity scarf for like 30 bucks-what a deal!) and i love design obviously but i was immediately a skeptic, who could blame me for that though right? Because everyone known designers brands such as LV have a certain mandate that bans sales, in fact they never ever have sales. EVER.

“Louis Vuitton North America’s President and CEO Daniel Lalonde stressed that one of the reasons for the brand’s success through the recession was because Louis Vuitton never goes on sale. But when I asked Lalonde how Louis Vuitton bags ended up on luxury auction website OohILove.com, he said they must be fakes.

It sounds like the bags are real and that OohILove is sneaking through Louis Vuitton’s “No Sales EVER” mandate via a very small loophole — which is to say, by describing the products as so-called “prizes” and not actually as what they are: discounted items. We can’t help but think that Louis Vuitton is going to put the kibosh on this, and fast.”

So that begs to ask the question, if they are not fakes, but the real thing against designer's wishes being sold for literally nothing- what makes it special anymore? What makes a LV bag or Chanel clutch-really LV or Chanel if not backed by an extreme price tag and following business mandated rules...
I,personally, think we should respect designers, selling their items for 95% off is wrong, in the design aspect, it is almost along the lines of counterfeit and knockoffs since it is selling under the designer's nose for a mere buck. The reason why fashion houses sell these items for so much is because it is clearly what it is worth, the design, the effort, the quality in leather, the quality in craftsmanship, everything! When you pay for the brand, you pay for all the hard work that went into it, if you're paying 50 cents for a bag, to me it is either a crappy fake or a slap in the face of the designers and seamstresses that put their work together to make you, the consumer, a quality product.
So yes, you are indeed walking on a dream, cause the whole idea of oohilove is asinine.
