Well I want that green but my blue has faded into a grayish slate blue, a color that even GAGA won't touch...
Anywayssss...
Okay I'll admitt I have been embracing the darker side of fashion in all my posts as of late. But dark cloth & intense graphics are what SP2011 seems to be all about. Being naturally attune to Fall, a darker spring sounds wonderful.
Ann Demeulemeester Spring 2011 collection is not your typical spring line up of pastels & pretty dresses. It's utility meets frothy waves of black & white leafy print, swallows of fabric layered & disheveled, parkas packed under mini-trenches, buckled breastplates askew, quilted obis, cut-out maxi skirts & peek-a-boo leather leggings, monochromatic chunky wedges embraced with loads of straps or V-shaped peeptoe, and structure balanced out with lengthy gathered fabric-- so perfectly placed to set heavenly volume. I don't feel it's entirely dark, it has a sense of hiding. Like the broken off fencing masks--can be easily interpreted as a wiry web...or the leather fins protruding from the cut-out thigh high gowns can give the viewer the idea that it is an ode to the sci-fi trend (look up Gareth Pugh, Giles, etc) but those drape-y lapels give it a more relaxed vibe that's not so much futurism but more in the now as in...tighter tops & shorter bottoms. Nowadays, you can hike up the hem line and it's cool, before it used to be sexed up and played out. seriously, what's going on?
lovvvvvve it all.
