This is my first post of Threads && Thoughts. Let me tell you a tidbit about myself. I'm a student at AAU (that's academy of art university) and majoring in fashion design. This post won't be as dramatic as the ones that I promise will follow. I'm not all that interesting, but I can guarantee you my life certainly is, and of course so is everything around us. From fashion trends to foreign politics, I will hopefully cover it all. Maybe even the whole dating scene, who knows.hah.
I've been recently into frozen yogurt, overpopulating my folder with post its reminding myself to look at other post its for more reminders, and of course garments with a lot, and I mean a lot of drape. Where I find these obsessions, I have no clue.
Frozen yogurt has been around for a long time, but just a few years ago these little yogurt&topping cafes have been popping up every where. Now I know everyone thinks yogurt tastes all the same, but once you've tried them all, you really HAVEN'T tried them all. I think Cefiore and pinkberry are the only two frozen yogurt stops I'm willing to shell out 7-8 bucks for a real good cup of deliciousness. They do have limited toppings but putting cocoa pebbles and m & m's on your frozen yogurt cup kind of defeats the purpose of a "healthy frozen treat" slogan. So these two shops or shall I say cafes (cefiore carries tea and coffee plus waffles! wow!) definitely nail the whole modern take on a "snack" or "icy treat",the environment is typically bright, solid shades of white, green and orange. Which causes me to believe the two store are conspiring with one another. Anyways, they're great, healthy and worth the extra cash.
As for post-its, I'm an addict. end of story.
Draping fabric is what I'm considering the new follow=up for the new "humble, modest" look thats been rattling around the past several months. I'm sure everyone is tired of hearing about the slumps in fashion due to the economy. The new "it" bag is absolute, it's more about downplay than anything else. A lot of black, leather goods, boots and the antique look you're grandmother always seemed to wear.Even some slump in the latest trouser like the harem pants (which i love, don't hate me-they are comfortable and with a pair of heels they look even better than the boyfriend jean with the rolled up cuffs!) The decline in mood is getting around, and poor shameful me is only thinking about one thing: Dolce Vita. The new androgynous polished flats drive me wild! I get compliments where ever I go, no lie!
Well three things if you include the hot new fringe booties I bought by Sam Edelman and those new strappy gladiator inspired, stud embellished heels from Jefferey Campbell. I can't wear heels, but I buy them, don't get me wrong-I do wear them! I'm just constantly in pain and bewilderment.
Dolce Vita-

Jefferey Campbell-

tell me what you think, is being shoe crazy a little so bratty for this season's slump and gloom trend?
