Simplistic Hues & Good Vibrations

Chanel Resort 2011 collection left it's audience in a sea of pale flowing caftans perfectly embellished with driftwood inspired beading & plenty of care-free summer hues. The colors and striped knit maxi dresses screamed 70's but the ice cream pastels gave the garments a flirty modern kick. Some pieces seem to be completely inspired by surf-side turf, a la fishing net. There was mesh, corduroy, sequins & even tribal prints used- i wasn't a fan of the see-through bathing suits. But of course the classic tweed cardigan is brought back slightly askew, slightly asymmetrical and slightly lighter in weight for that summer breeze we all need.
Here's some of my faves:

ok...that was way too many, hahah. I somehow feel compelled to say that Chanel Spring 2010 was more relevant to Chanel's iconic style even though it featured no black, navy or any gold embellishments. Although I like the 70's free-spirit feel of it all, it just doesn't speak volumes of Chanel. In short, I loved Chanel Spring 2010 Couture so much more. I want to be buried in it. all of it! every garment. I know it'll be impossible to fit 67 pieces.... with me...in a coffin. whatevs.
