Into the blue...and the black...and the enchanting soft grays

EVEN THOUGH SUMMER is almost over, it doesn't mean the trends of the summer die (unlike certain dreams, wishes & blooms)...so I've been pondering all the masses of denim on denim, rocking out in tie-up hiking heels, ankle socks accompanying sky high ankle boots, shearling jackets in denim + wool combos, the 1950's retro look revved up with modern prints and seductive leather via Isabel Marant, the academic look nailed with red plaid blazers/cozy chunky knits/ankle socks meeting up with oxfords & drop-waist dresses thanks to Band of Outsiders, sexy leather/knit paneled jeggings through fitted greats such as Helmut Lang & Current/Elliott + Marni, drawstring harem pants cuffed at the ends for a more casual feel then paired with wooden clogs...ahhh so many summer trends, it's tough thinking about how we only have two months to wear them all. So that's why I propose layering what's already in your closet and buying a few essentials for Fall, and pair those babies up! (And I know, layering is not something new-but it shouldn't be something old either! re-invent your summer looks people! you've got ripped jean cut-offs--pair them with black nylons and ankle studded boots, voila!! summer sans the beachy vibe, more the downtown girl chic you've been missing out on!)
Here's what's on my wishlist; my birthday is coming up you knowww ;p annnd although I hate the idea of embellishing the value of turning 21 and all the perks of being older & wiser are (they are none! wrinkles & age spots are no fun--and you know what they say...20 is the new 40!)...i still like eating cake & receiving presents like any other birthday girl! I already have plans to have breakfast at Tiffany's with my mother, possibly followed by a movie at the Arclight w/my fave dish there (cheese & fruit platter), it comes with mexican weddings cookies! too perfect right? then in the afternoon, I'm off to my best friend's house because his mother is throwing me a little party and baking me a delicious choco-flan cake (she's the best at it, really!)... then maybe some light vintage browsing down my block and end the night by the traditional 'getting wasted at a dive bar on my first night of being 21' hahah. lame I know, but for some reason everyone claims it to be this weird right of passage. So yeah. Annnnd my amazing boss gave me the day off on that day, hence it being fully booked with activities with my favorite people.
yesss i'm excited, and no not about turning 21! more about the cake and seeing beautiful people i love.hahah.

Okay here it is, indulge...:

Alice + Olivia for Payless
okay, i'm not your typical Payless shopper, but I'm a huge alice + olivia fan...i absolutely am head over heels (pun intended heh) for the new brown wooden platforms, the new heels are just heaven, I'm conflicted on which ones I really want so I'll probably get them all! and for the price i'll be paying, not much of a dent in the good 'ol wallet. I could wear them with anything right now, pair them with plush gray ankle socks or black knee highs or even full-on bright nylons...the possibilities are endless people!!!

Floral Pants
Whether it be the likes of Rachel Comey or a simple legging pair from H&M, I fucking need floral pants, I've been wanting a pair for years since I saw Sevigny graciously tout them down the street debuting them as the hottest, statement making type of garment at the time. still is by the way...

Make Up Forever Rouge Artist Lipstick
i need a new red lip for Fall. neeeed it.

The Cobra Shop
This is probably the only positive thing about living in LA, cool hip pop-up shops like Mark "The Cobrasnake" Hunter's first store in Hollywood & Highland mall. It's all hand-picked vintage and fun little trinkets that you're much lamer friends with be envious over... It's on my wishlist of places I neeeeed to go, mostly because it's only here until the end of September.

Other things:
-bebe metallic motorcycle jacket
-aldo flat london ankle boots
-more wooden clogs!!! ahha
-a visit to petit bandeau for some Parisian basics
-dressy ankle socksssss!
