foodbabies, winter heroism & infidelity turns into pop culture

When thanksgiving rolls around the corner, everyone is concerned about getting fat for some odd reason (just put the fork down motherfucker!) annnnd gals wanna know what are the best outfits to wear during such a holiday (can we really celebrate stealing land and raping natives as a holiday? maaaan us americans can get away with anythannnn) especially with a full gut... some may say go eighties & wear a super sweet bodycon with a mini frill skirt overlay or class it up casually with sweatpants-blazer duo. all i can say is eww. no one should ever...EVER dress according to their food intake for the day. it's just not very hepburn, it's not evennnnnn channing.

During the holiday season, i tend to lean towards the classic holiday look just re-vamped...norwegian inspired prints...you know, the wintery moose/deer print you see on traditional holiday cards & wrapping paper. I actually have a pair of shorts from No.A that are very very holiday but way too short to wear during the holidays...i mean, wearing nylons and layers of thigh highs is do-able..but booty shorts never seem appropriate, i was even hesitant to wear them during summer...anyways...if you're not a fan of holiday inspired print, busy print on print, mixing or matching...try going monochromatic with a wool blazer/cardi or leggings in a crazy over the top print--tah dah! statement piece!

here's something that i think i have mentioned on the blog before...my hunt for the perfect cape. well the search is almost over, i was browsing AA the other day and tried on the snap closure wool hooded cape they have. fits perfect, its in black and one size fits all which is a lifesaver since i usually aim for petite sizes (because i have Filipino blood running through my veins ie. i'm short as fuhhhh). and for only $68 bucks how can i say no!?!? but i do plan to check lagarconne.com for a chance at a MM6 poncho or perhaps T by Alexander Wang mohair cape that (by sheer luck) is also hooded and embellished with utility styled square leather trimmed pockets. For some reason when i think capes, i think: instantaneous class. lets say i'm wearing some skinny denim, ruched slouchy boots and a white tee....put a cape over that and suddenly im not so LA...suddenly there's class! a-ha!all i need is a fur beret, that studious Proenza Schouler messenger & a cigarette holder.perrrrrrfect<3
