chunk of church

The only thing i look forward to about fall (other than the wintry chill, turning leaves & warmer food selection for myself) is the color palette ie. black, gold & burgundy (my fave fall colors) and during this time, you can go all out--no holding back, ostentation becomes the standard with peacoats, double breasted trenches & stockings with heels. perhaps even a brooch or two. i lovvvvve it. So for this upcoming fall it's all about...
Chanel Pre-Fall 2011!
This upcoming season was as inspired by the Empress Theodora and the lost culture of Byzantium and also trended Coco's signature Gripoix jewelry. The foundation for the silhouettes was square, square, square--down to the jeweled buttons on the navy peacoats to the very structured boots & ornamental gem encrusted sandals.Futuristic spray painted squares on tights, lots of golds & blacks, peasant sleeved blouses, brooch centered in peter pan collars, intense thick knits in a flutter of colors, large pleats on silk peplums, cut out shoulders & hips on frocks, gold & gem trimmed everything, cowl neck shifts in velvet & glittered in stones,drop-waist maxis, slouchy corduroys, bedazzled shawls sewn into white button downs, cathedral themed leather pencil skirts, quilted metallic trenches, fringed multi-colored knits, feathered layered suits, mis-matched motifs, fold sewn flaps on skirts, pleated gold capes, and super sheer silk body suits.
(Gasp)
It was a quaint blend the fifth century & 60's london. You can really see the empress inspiration in all of it, queen-y cardigans and regal pouchettes. c'monnnn anyone that wears brooches on their loafer heels is either a museum princess or a rare vintage piece hoarder.
