the beautiful people wear latex & lace

Texture, print & structure.
Three things to live by this Fall. Although Spring brought us many strong withstanding trends & a surprisingly bright color palette that gives a considerably polished look-- but Fall (my fave season, and always will be)...takes Spring collections as a whole and lets off tiny explosions of familiarity, splashes of previous contrasting colors, and something new--something refreshing every time. For Marc Jacobs Fall RTW 2011, I saw a lot of familiarity, and not just in tone & shape. Surely enough the brash metallic tinted green I saw down Celine Pre-Fall runway was infused to boot heels for MJ, see-through peasant sleeve tops debuted as a homage to the see-through 3/4th length skirts seen down the Spring 2011 runway, even prints gave way but as embroidered motifs--polka dots to be exact (cough Prada SP 2011 cough)... Raf brought on voluminous coats and puffy long sleeves to menswear so MJ decided to emulate that silhouette-heavy type of beauty for Fall RTW 2011. The collection also brought on a nostalgic feel, something Marc has always toyed with in every collection--but this seemed to have a touch of romanticism. All I can say is if Fall equals harnessed berets, Lurex pants & manson playing in the backdrop as i strut down the street-- bring on Fall!
