school girl plays bad girl

Inspiration comes from the most unexpected places in the fashion industry, one being in film. Christopher Kane being the biggest fan of this trend (the sound of music matronly vibes via FALL2010 being the prime example at the moment AKA the mexican funeral look ). What's on his mind for SP2011? well the highly sought after neon green lace print PVC suit is far more than just a fresh start this season, it's taken pointers from some very fashionable peers from past collections. Remember the days when Calvin Klein & Hugo Boss reigned supreme?hah.

Christopher Kane SP2011
See through gauze-y neon lace keeps the look fresh & inventive, but a second time around is what i am feeling. There are several pieces reminiscent to the days of Beverly Hills high school-- sweater vests perfectly matched with cardigans & brightly colored skirts. Yeah I know...Wintour needs to check her eyesight, I'm sorry but elevator flats is where I draw the line, anywhere after that is just a explosion of ill-placed lace pleats & strap-y pipe sandals done on 'over-kill', something us americans know a lot about. Don't get me wrong, there are a few pieces I did lust over (...like the prints on collared dresses--the lace was a bit lulling to the eyes though). Thankfully towards the end, school girl metamorphosized into a butterfly of some sort. (yes, i can invent words)
